The American Freestyle Karate Association Celebrates
40th Anniversary with Gala Hall of Fame and Seminar Weekend 

The American Freestyle Karate Association (AFKA) will celebrate it’s 40th anniversary with a Hall of Fame Banquet and Masters’ Summit from June 16th to the 19th in Lynchburg, VA at the Kirkley Hotel and Conference Center. 

The Master’s Summit Seminars will start on Thursday, the 16th with Lawrence Arthur’s Business by the Numbers seminar for Instructors and owners.  

For students, 10-time World Champion, Grand Master Ron Ferguson will be teaching Tricks with the Bo Staff and Empty Hand Contemporary Form.    Friday Morning, the 17th, from 9:00 am, David Clements 6th Degree Black Belt, will share his knowledge of Aikido for Self-Defense.   

For the Sport Karate enthusiast, Jimmy Sherman, coach of the World Champion Team Unity, will teach the strategies and tactics that his team has been using to keep them on the top of the Sport  Karate Circuit.   

An Active Shooter Defense Seminar is for everyone, all ages, martial artist or not. It starts at 2:00 PM on Friday the 17th and will give you the knowledge to keep yourself safe if you are ever in an active shooter situation. This seminar will be taught by Mr. Clifton Abercrombie, 4th-degree black belt and certified Krav Maga Instructor will be hosting this event.   James Perlini, 8th-degree black belt will share his vision of  Fit for the Fight of Life at 4:00 PM.    

Saturday Morning at 9:00 AM, the 2016 Black Belt Extravaganza will start. Students and instructors will be testing for black belt rank from first degree up to 5th-degree. There will be over fifty students putting everything they have on the line to impress the panel of Master and Grand Master judges. 
  
Eddie Thomas will take the stage at 12:00 with his outstanding seminar on Flexibility and Kicking.  

Finally, at 2:00 PM, World Breaking Champion, Doug Armstrong will teach you how to master your breaking like a world champion. 

Sunday morning 19 times World Champion, Jeff “Sushi” Doss will host his seminar on Traditional Forms for Competition at 10:00 AM.   The Hall of Fame Banquet doors will open at 6:00 PM and dinner will be served at 7:00 Saturday evening.   

The entire weekend of seminars is only $295 for registration by May 15th. Late registration will be accepted until sold out at $395.
